Going through a change?

Work, relationships, FIFO, burnout - it can build up over time. Not sure how to explain it, or where to start? That’s okay.

I offer a calm, straightforward space to talk things through.

About

A professional and approachable portrait of John Ryan, counsellor

"Based in Perth, Western Australia, I’ve spent my career supporting people through change, identity, uncertainty, and starting over."

Having faced my own mental health challenges, I developed a strong commitment to personal growth and to supporting others.

My background includes work in suicide prevention, FIFO environments, and health and wellness, alongside a later diagnosis of ADHD. These experiences help me connect with people in a way that is practical, relatable, and non-judgmental.

I understand that everyone’s journey is different, and reaching out can feel like the hardest step. Sometimes, starting small with a phone conversation can be enough to begin feeling more at ease.

The Approach

Perth-based counsellor supporting individuals through life transitions with a straightforward, down-to-earth approach.

Working with people experiencing stress, anxiety, burnout, relationship challenges, career change, ADHD, Autism, and FIFO-related pressures.

If you aren’t entirely sure what’s wrong, just that something feels off or has built up over time, a conversation can help untangle it. Therapy doesn’t need to be complicated. With the right space and support, things can start to make sense.
